Bihar launches ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana’, women to get Rs 10k to start work; extra aid of up to Rs 2 lakh after 6 months

PATNA: The state Cabinet on Friday approved a new scheme 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana' for women's employment. The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to a woman from all the families of the state to start employment of their choice.An amount of Rs 10,000 will be given as the first installment to one woman of a family for employment of their choice.The process of receiving applications from interested women will be started soon, CM Nitish Kumar informed on X. The entire process will be determined by the Rural Development Department and for this, the cooperation of the Urban Development and Housing Department will also be taken as per the need.Funds will be transferred to the bank accounts of women from September itself.An additional assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh can be given as per the need after assessing 6 months performance after the women start their entrepreneur.
