The Bihar Police Headquarters (PHQ) issued a statewide high alert following intelligence inputs about the entry of Pakistan-based terrorists into the poll-bound state through Nepal.
Sources told CNN-News18 that three suspected members of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed infiltrated Bihar through the Nepal border.
They have been identified as Hasnain Ali of Rawalpindi, Adil Hussain of Umerkot, and Mohammad Usman of Bahawalpur, according to the Bihar Police.
The PHQ has circulated their names, photographs, and passport details to border districts for verification and enhanced surveillance.
Intelligence reports suggest that the trio arrived in Kathmandu in the second week of August and crossed into Bihar during the third week of the month.
With the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, security agencies are on heightened alert over the possibility of a terror strike in the state.
Sources said that senior police officials have been briefed on the situation, and instructions have been issued to all district intelligence units to intensify monitoring, collect field inputs, and act promptly against any suspicious activity.
Authorities fear the infiltrators may be planning to carry out a major terror attack in some part of the country.
