A distressing incident has emerged from Shankarpur in Bihar’s Madhepura district where the nephew of a school principal brutally assaulted a five-year-old girl. The attack occurred at a private school in Naya village, Maura Kabiyahi Panchayat, within the Shankarpur police station area.

Annu Kumar, the nephew of school principal Anil Yadav, is accused of torturing the young girl. The school has since been shut down and locked.

According to the girl’s family, she was first beaten with a belt and then an attempt was made to hang her using the same belt. Needles were also pierced into her hands and feet, causing injuries. The family reported that the school principal left the injured girl near her mother’s shop. She was admitted to Jannayak Karpoori Thakur Medical College in critical condition.

This incident took place on Saturday night (July 5), after which the school principal fled, leaving the girl behind. Reena Devi, the aunt of the victim Pooja Kumari, who was present at the medical college, stated that five months ago her brother Sanjay Yadav had enrolled his two daughters in the New Public School of Shankarpur.

On Saturday night, while her sister-in-law was running her snacks shop at Hatiya, Anil Yadav abandoned the injured girl there and ran away. The family then admitted the critically injured girl to the medical college.

The child’s hands bore syringe needle marks. Reena Devi detailed that her niece was first beaten with a belt, then hung by the neck with the belt and beaten further, followed by the piercing of syringe needles into her hands.

Despite the severity of the incident, Shankarpur police station has not yet received an official complaint. Police station in-charge Roshan Kumar stated that legal action would follow upon receiving an application.
