Bike rider killed as tree branch falls on him in Idukki

Idukki: A 21-year-old bike rider was killed after a large tree branch fell on him near Peermade in Idukki on Tuesday.The deceased was Pranav, a native of Elappara. The accident occurred at around 1pm near Odichukuthi bend on Elappara-Chemmann Road.

A large branch from a roadside tree suddenly snapped and fell on him, causing fatal injuries.Locals and passers-by rushed him to a hospital, but doctors there could not save his life.The body waskept at Peermade Taluk Hospital mortuary. It will be handed over to the family after the completion of legal formalities. The funeral will be held later.
