BIS training for TNUHDB engineers gets under way

A two-day capacity building programme, organised by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Coimbatore Branch, for engineers of the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board (TNUHDB) got under way in the city on July 29.

This initiative is part of BIS’s ongoing efforts to promote the implementation of Indian Standards across State government departments, with special focus on urban planning, construction, water systems, and sanitation. The programme aims at strengthening understanding of national standards and encourage their practical application for safe, sustainable, and high-quality infrastructure.

Balamurugan, Superintendent Engineer, TNUHDB, inaugurated the programme. It was attended by 28 assistant engineers, assistant executive engineers, and junior engineers, according to a BIS release.
