BJP announces names for 28 ADC seats in Tripura

Agartala: A day after TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman announced his party’s decision to contest the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections scheduled for April 12 alone, BJP on Tuesday released its candidate list for all 28 seats.At a joint press conference, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya and CM Manik Saha confirmed the party’s plans to independently contest the ADC elections.They said BJP’s aim is to ensure equitable development for Tripura’s indigenous population. Bhattacharya reiterated the party’s commitment to contesting all seats and assured that candidates would file their nominations within the designated timeline.

Expressing optimism about public support, Bhattacharya said the party is confident voters will choose BJP candidates to pave the way for a “Viksit Tripura” with transparent governance.He further disclosed that the party has largely retained its sitting members of district council (MDCs), with only two changes made to the candidate line-up.
