BJP expels its social media co-convener over Himanta Sarma's 'point blank shot' video

The Bharatiya Janata Party has officially expelled its social media co-convener following a major controversy involving an AI-generated video that showed Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma taking aim and firing with a rifle at members of a particular community. The video was later deleted after it triggered widespread uproar. 

Multiple civil and police cases have been filed across the country by opposition parties in response to the content.
