The BJP has strongly objected to the Kerala government’s decision to invite Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin as chief guest for the first-ever Global Ayyappa Sangamam in Pathanamthitta on September 20. BJP leaders accused the state’s Left government of “hypocrisy” and “insulting Hindu faith” by extending the invitation to Stalin, who, they alleged, had remained silent when his party colleagues in the DMK made disparaging remarks about Hinduism.

BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar warned that the party would “resist” the participation of both Stalin and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan if they did not apologise to Hindus and Ayyappa devotees. He alleged that Vijayan had previously “ordered police action and filed cases against devotees at Sabarimala.”

“INDI alliance parties like Congress, CPI(M) and DMK going to a Sabarimala program is as unreal as Hitler celebrating Jews, Rahul Gandhi speaking the truth, Osama bin Laden becoming an apostle of peace, Hamas/Jamaat Islami respecting people of other faiths, and Congress/INDI alliance giving up dynasties and corruption. Harsh but true. Nothing—no lie, no hypocrisy—that the Rahul Gandhi-led INDI alliance does surprises or shocks me anymore,” he added.
