BJP MLAs and MLCs, led by Legislature Party leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy, will visit Mancherial on Friday to conduct a field inspection and expose alleged “irregularities and corruption” in the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).
Mr. Reddy said on Thursday that it has been more than two years since the Congress Party assumed office after promising an inquiry into the “irregularities, malpractices, and corruption” that occurred during the previous BRS regime. However, no such investigation has been ordered so far. Instead, he alleged, the Congress government has followed in the footsteps of the BRS, effectively turning SCCL into a “mine of scams” during this period.
According to a press release issued on Thursday, the BJP team will undertake field inspections to ascertain facts related to alleged “corruption, tender malpractices, discrepancies in coal stocks, financial irregularities in solar and power projects, and negligence in worker welfare measures” that have recently come to light. The team aims to gather on-ground evidence as part of its effort to highlight governance failures in the State-run coal company.
