BJP to hold meet to discuss De-Notified Tribes of A.P. on August 30 in Vijayawada

BJP State President P.V.N. Madhav on Monday announced that a State level public meeting would be held in Vijayawada on August 30 on the challenges and welfare of the De-Notified Tribes (DNT) of Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing the gathering of BJP supporters during Saradhyam yatra in Amalapuram in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema District, Mr. Madhav said that many people belonging to the DNTs are yet to be issued Caste certificates and Aadhaar in Andhra Pradesh.

“The Central government has constituted a three-member committee to suggest welfare measures for the DNTs and the BJP has been striving for them,” he said.

On aid for toddy tappers and coconut collectors, Mr. Madhav said that the Centre contributes 75 per cent aid in ex-gratia to those who would die while attending trees.

On tourism potential of the Konaseema region, he said, “The Andhra Pradesh State government will strive to give a fillip to temple and eco-tourism in Konaseema”.

MLC Somu Veerraju, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema District BJP President Adabala Satyanarayana and other leaders joined the rally in the Amalapuram town.
