The outlawed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing on a Pakistan Coast Guards camp in Balochistan’s Gwadar district, alleging that more than 30 paramilitary personnel were killed and several others injured.

In a statement, the BLA said an explosives-laden vehicle targeted the Panwan Coast Guard base in Jiwani, describing the strike as a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (SVBIED) attack carried out as part of a coordinated operation.

“As a result of this powerful blast, the fortified colonial camp of the Coast Guards was completely turned into a heap of rubble," said BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch in an official statement, The Balochistan Post reported.

“Immediately after the attack, our organisation’s vanguard unit, the Fateh Squad, advanced rapidly and in an organised manner, launching an assault on the destroyed camp from all sides," the statement further read.

Claiming responsibility for the attack, the group alleged that the blast “completely destroyed" the camp and caused heavy casualties among security personnel.

The BLA further claimed that over 30 members of the Pakistani paramilitary forces were killed, while dozens of others sustained serious injuries. It added that the death toll was expected to rise.

“Given the critical condition of the injured and the personnel trapped under the rubble, a further increase in the enemy’s casualties is highly likely," stated the BLA spokesperson.

According to the statement, armed BLA units launched follow-up operations after the suicide bombing targeted the Coast Guard’s installation.

BLA Release Video Of Suicide Bombing

A 43-second video of the suicide bombing was also released by the BLA’s media wing, Hakkal, which purportedly showed the explosive-laden truck entering the camp moments before the blast, followed by a massive fireball.

Pakistani authorities have not immediately confirmed the BLA’s casualty claims or released an official statement on the incident.

The Baloch Liberation Army is an outlawed separatist group that has claimed responsibility for multiple attacks targeting Pakistani security forces and infrastructure in Balochistan.
