Ujjain: A 35-year-old blacksmith was found murdered inside his room behind Nagraj temple on Bedawan Road in Ujjain’s Unhel police station area on Tuesday.Police said body of the blacksmith, Vikram Lohar, was discovered by the victim’s father, Ashok, who lived nearby. He had gone to wake him up. When no one responded, Ashok forced the door open only to find his son lying in a pool of blood, while his daughter-in-law Radhika and 11-year-old grandson Samrat were still asleep.Police found severe injuries in Vikram’s head possibly caused by a hammer. Since only the couple and their son were present in the room, police detained Radhika for questioning as the prime suspect.Unhel police station in-charge Santosh Chouhan and CSP Vikram Ahirwar reached the spot for investigation.Nagda SDOP Vikram Ahirwar said Vikram’s mobile phone was seized to retrieve call records. He was a drunkard. His body was handed over to the family after postmortem examination.Police said that the child would also be questioned as per legal procedure if required.
