Blake Lively wins in court but loses a spot at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding

Two very different headlines, one Blake Lively, and the timing couldn't be more telling. While Taylor Swift gears up for her MSG wedding takeover this week, her former best friend is having her own moment, just a slightly less glamorous one.

Lively has just scored a serious legal win against Justin Baldoni, demanding millions in fees. But reports suggest she still won't have a seat at Taylor's big day.

Blake Lively wins big in court — but she's still not invited to Taylor Swift's wedding

Court documents filed Monday show Lively is seeking a total of $8,035,040.88 in attorneys' fees and litigation costs from Baldoni, made up of $7,495,526.87 in fees and $539,514.01 in expenses, all tied to her defence against his now-dismissed defamation lawsuit.

A judge had already ruled she's entitled to pursue fees under a California law protecting people from retaliatory lawsuits, though her bid for punitive damages was denied. Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios now have until 13 July to respond, after which the judge decides whether to award the full amount, cut it down, or reject parts of it altogether. Baldoni's camp has already pushed back hard, calling the whole thing fruitless.

While Lively racks up a win on paper, things look a lot less rosy on the friendship front. Page Six reports Lively hasn't been invited to Swift's wedding celebrations with Travis Kelce, despite earlier hopes the pair were patching things up. A source previously told People that Taylor and Blake "aren't speaking," and Lively was notably absent from a Rhode Island gathering rumoured to be Swift's bachelorette do. An insider claims Lively "understands" the snub, accepting that the wedding would turn into a media frenzy and that the two simply "don't have the same level of friendship they once had."

Why the friendship fell apart in the first place

For context, Swift and Lively were inseparable for years, with Taylor even named godmother to Lively's kids. But the bond reportedly fractured after Lively's legal battle with Baldoni dragged Swift into the mix, leaking her private texts and resulting in a scandal that kept her in headlines for months. It's the kind of fallout that's hard to bounce back from, even for two of Hollywood's tightest besties.

So, one win in court, one wedding she's watching from the outside. Make of that what you will. We'll be keeping an eye on whether Lively's name pops up anywhere near MSG this week, and whether Baldoni's camp puts up a real fight over that $8 million.
