Noa Lang and Victor Osimhen suffered serious injuries in Galatasaray’s loss to Liverpool, sparking outrage over stadium safety and calls for UEFA action.
The Turkish giants were thrashed 4-0 by Liverpool FC in the Champions League, but the bigger concern came off the pitch — with two key players suffering serious injuries in alarming circumstances.
Noa Lang Suffers Gruesome Injury
Noa Lang endured the most shocking moment of the night.

He was immediately taken to the hospital, with the club later confirming he will undergo surgery on his thumb.
The incident quickly sparked outrage among fans, with many pointing to a retractable mechanism near the hoardings that was allegedly left exposed.
According to widespread speculation, Lang’s hand struck this sharp object at speed, turning what should have been a routine collision into a serious injury.
Fans didn’t hold back, labelling it an “amateur situation" unfit for elite competition. Many online called on UEFA to take immediate action, even demanding sanctions against Liverpool.
Osimhen Blow Adds to Galatasaray’s Misery
As if that wasn’t enough, Victor Osimhen also suffered a major injury blow.
The striker sustained a fracture to his right forearm during the first half, compounding Galatasaray’s woes.

The club confirmed that a decision on whether surgery is required will be made in the coming days.
Questions Raised Over Stadium Safety
The double injury has shifted focus firmly onto safety standards at the highest level of European football.
Supporters were quick to draw comparisons, pointing out that Galatasaray fans had recently faced sanctions after flares were thrown in a match against Juventus FC.
Now, they argue, a far more dangerous situation, one that directly endangered a player, has occurred inside a stadium.
Whether UEFA acts on those concerns remains to be seen.
