Times News NetworkUjjain: Bodies of a man and a woman were found in a field near Brahmankheda village under Raghavi police station limits. Police said it was a case of double murder. The deceased were identified as Manju Sharma, 35, and Kaluram Verma, 42, both residents of Bailakheda village. Kaluram’s motorcycle was found near the spot where bodies were found.According to ASP (Rural) Karndeep Singh, villagers alerted police on Thursday afternoon after spotting the bodies on a field ridge along the Brahmankheda road. While the case initially looked like an accident, severe head injuries on both bodies pointed to murder.

Investigators suspect the killings stemmed from an affair, with the woman’s family under suspicion, though old enmity and financial disputes were also being probed.Initial probe revealed that Kaluram was a close friend of Manju’s husband. Manju worked as a midday-meal cook at a government school. Kaluram was unmarried.Police believe both were killed with a heavy object struck on their heads.Several family members and other suspects have been detained for questioning, and CDRs of the deceased and suspects’ phones have been obtained.
