Villagers at the spot where body was found
Chatra: The body of 32-year-old Sanju Ram, who got swept away in the rain fed Khadhaiya river on Sunday, was recovered on Tuesday, from the Khailha-Katahi river under Tandwa police station area, three kilometres away from the incident site.
The deceased hailed from Sindhani village under Pathalgada police station in Chatra district.Police said the highly decomposed body has been sent for postmortem following which it will be handed over to the family, Tandwa police station officer in-charge Anil Oraon said. Sanju drowned while washing his bike along with his brother-in-law Chando Ram. While locals rescued Chando, Ram got swept away in the flash flood.
