Bokaro Steel Plant Allots 96 Shops for Displaced Persons' Economic Upliftment

Bokaro: The Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) initiated the process of allotting 96 newly constructed and vacant shops across different sectors of Bokaro Steel City. The initiative is part of the plant’s continued commitment towards the economic upliftment of displaced persons.“The allotment process is being carried out through the city administration department. The shops include neighbourhood shops, low cost shops, and kiosks. These shops will be allotted exclusively to eligible displaced persons of the area to help them start their own businesses and become financially self-reliant,” said Manikant Dhan, spokesperson, BSL.The allotment will be done through a transparent lottery system. The selected applicants will receive the shops on an 11-month licence period, which may be renewed in the future as per rules. Dhan clarified that only those displaced persons who possess valid DPLR or BSL registration certificates will be eligible to participate in the allotment process. The initiative is expected to create new self-employment opportunities for displaced families and contribute to their economic stability.
