NOIDA: A bomb threat email sent to the District Magistrate's (DM) office in Greater Noida triggered a massive security response on Monday, prompting police to deploy specialised teams to search the premises.
.Following the receipt of the threatening email, the Surajpur police immediately launched a coordinated response. Teams from the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), Fire Brigade, Anti-Sabotage (AS) Check Team and Dog Squad were rushed to the DM office to carry out a comprehensive inspection of the building and surrounding areas.Officials said that despite the intensive search, no suspicious object or explosive material had been found at the time of filing this report.
Police added that nothing suspicious or adverse had come to light during the operation.Meanwhile, a cyber team has launched a technical investigation to trace the origin of the email and identify the person or persons responsible for sending the bomb threat. Investigators are examining digital evidence and other technical details to determine whether the threat was genuine or a hoax.Police officials said security has been heightened as a precautionary measure, and surveillance around the DM office has been intensified.
They added that the situation is completely under control, normal functioning has been restored, and law and order remain intact.In an official statement, police appealed to the public not to believe or circulate rumours related to the incident. They assured that all necessary precautions are being taken and that the matter is being handled with the utmost seriousness. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the ongoing cyber investigation.
