Boost to sports infrastructure as CM launches host of initiatives

In a boost to sports infrastructure in the State, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy along with Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, launched a series of sports development projects worth ₹50.73 crore aimed at strengthening training facilities and infrastructure.

The initiative includes foundation stone laying for projects worth ₹36.65 crore and inauguration of sports academies at Gachibowli Stadium and LB Stadium, built with an estimated cost of ₹14.08 crore.

At Gachibowli Stadium, multiple academies were inaugurated, including FIFA-AIFF Telangana Talent Academies for boys and girls, each worth ₹5.70 crore. Athletics academies for boys and girls at ₹35 lakh each and hockey academies for boys and girls at ₹44.50 lakh each. At LB Stadium, Football Academy for boys at ₹58.50 lakh and a Handball Academy at ₹49 lakh, were inaugurated.

Foundation stones were laid for several mini stadiums and sports facilities at districts, including a ₹10 crore mini stadium in Shadnagar, modernisation of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stadium in Sangareddy at ₹10 crore, a multi-purpose stadium in Wanaparthy at ₹4 crore, and other facilities in Narayanpet, Kamareddy and Medak districts.
