Boy, 6, mauled to death by pack of stray dogs

Saharanpur: A six-year-old boy was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs in Harora village on Wednesday morning, sparking protests by local residents over the region’s worsening stray dog menace. The victim, Mohd Abuzar, had just stepped out of his house to go to a nearby shop when the pack pounced upon him. Family members said the child suffered grievous injuries and died before he could be rushed for medical treatment.Angry locals said repeated complaints to the local administration regarding the rising canine population have gone unheeded. “We have been raising this issue for months, but no one took it seriously,” said Mohd Parvez, a local villager. They demanded that the administration should immediately launch a special drive to round up the stray dogs. This is the second fatal attack in Saharanpur district within months. On April 27, an eight-year-old boy, Lavish Kumar, was killed by stray dogs in Chaupur village in Muzaffarabad area.
