Pilibhit: A seven-year-old boy died after falling from a motorcycle onto barbed and razor-wire fencing erected around an agricultural field in Maini village under Bilsanda police station limits, police said on Thursday.Rajat Maurya was riding pillion on a motorcycle being driven by his cousin, Saurabh, 14, when the rider allegedly lost control after hitting a pothole. Rajat fell onto the fencing and sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to a community health centre (CHC) and was referred to a higher medical facility in Bareilly. However, he died before he could be shifted, police said.Taking cognisance of the incident, district magistrate Gyanendra Singh directed officials to investigate the matter. Following an inspection by Bisalpur SDM Nagendra Pandey, authorities confirmed the presence of the prohibited barbed and razor-wire fencing. “The violator of the prohibition order will face legal action. An FIR will be lodged irrespective of whether the victim’s family submits a written complaint,” Singh told TOI.Bilsanda SHO Jagdeep Malik said family members declined to send the body for postmortem until the arrival of the child’s father, who works in Gurugram.
