Break-in at judicial magistrate’s house in Ludhiana

The magistrate returned to Ludhiana and found a bicycle worth ₹40,000, a 10-gram silver coin, and ₹2,000 in cash missing from the property, following which a police complaint was lodged.

Ludhiana: Unidentified thieves broke into the house of a judicial magistrate in the upscale BRS Nagar locality and escaped with cash and valuables while he was away on vacation.The burglary came to light when the magistrate’s gunman, ASI Jaswinder Pal, visited the residence on June 28 following a phone call from him during the court holidays.

Upon discovering the house ransacked, the gunman immediately alerted the magistrate.The magistrate returned to Ludhiana and found a bicycle worth ₹40,000, a 10-gram silver coin, and ₹2,000 in cash missing from the property, following which a police complaint was lodged.The Sarabha Nagar police have registered an FIR against the unidentified suspects under Sections 305 (theft) and 331(4) (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).ASI Jaswinder Singh, the investigating officer from the Sarabha Nagar police station, stated that the police have begun scanning CCTV footage from nearby cameras to identify and trace the accused.
