An Army Brigadier and his son were allegedly attacked by a group of eight to ten individuals in south Delhi’s Vasant Enclave late Saturday night after they confronted two men for consuming alcohol inside a parked car, according to claims shared on X by Ashok Bijalwan, a submariner veteran and geostrategist. However, the Delhi Police has not yet officially confirmed the incident.

As per the account, the incident took place around 10 pm on April 11 when the Brigadier and his son, an IIT graduate, were out for a walk near their residential complex. The two men in the car, allegedly consuming alcohol in public, were questioned by the officer, leading to a confrontation.

The situation reportedly escalated quickly, with the men calling in additional people. Soon after, a larger group arrived in multiple vehicles and allegedly assaulted the Brigadier’s son, leaving him injured, while also manhandling the officer.

Concerns were also raised about the alleged response of the police. Despite a PCR call being made to 112, a police vehicle that reportedly reached the scene did not intervene, according to the posts on X. Another user, Danvir Singh, who said he spoke directly with the Brigadier, described the attackers as “antisocial elements" and said the officer and his son sustained injuries during the incident.

He added that the officer, who had served in operations in Kashmir and along the Line of Control, had not expected such an experience at home, alleging the police remained a “mute spectator."

The family’s difficulties allegedly continued at the Vasant Vihar Police Station, where their complaint was initially not registered and immediate medical help was not provided. They were later treated at a military hospital.

Colonel Singh said an FIR has since been filed after persistent efforts, calling it “a glimmer of hope" and expressing confidence that those responsible would face action.
