BSF foils smuggling bid, recovers over 2 kg of heroin in Punjab, 2 arrested

Based on intelligence inputs, the Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a pistol and a drone carrying heroin in multiple operations along the Punjab border. Two people have also been arrested in connection with the seizures.

During a patrol along the international border in Attari, Amritsar, BSF troops detained a man for suspicious activities. He was later handed over to Punjab Police for further investigation.

In another operation, carried out jointly by the BSF and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Amritsar, a second individual was arrested on charges of smuggling. A packet of heroin and a motorcycle were recovered from him.

Additionally, BSF troops recovered a drone near the international border which was carrying a packet of heroin. Two other packets were also recovered from the bordering area.

Alongside the drone, a pistol with its magazine was also seized, pointing to organised cross-border smuggling.
