BSL removes illegal power connections in Sector 2A area

Bokaro: Over 3 km of cables, which were being used to draw electricity illegally to power shops and vendors operating on encroached land in Sector 2A near Dundibagh market, were seized in a raid which was carried out by officials of the Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) on Friday and Saturday.The crack down was initiated following complaints from residents about frequent power outages and fluctuations in voltages. A team led by general manager (Electrical) Rajul Halkarni, carried out the drive and removed several unauthorised connections drawn directly from electricity poles.“During the operation, officials seized nearly 3 kilometres of illegal wiring, mostly 4 mm and 6 mm cables, indicating organised misuse of electricity,” BSL spokespersonManikant Dhan said.
