The Bharatiya Janata Party Andhra Pradesh official spokesperson Valluru Jayaprakash has welcomed the State Budget 2026-2027, describing it as a balanced and responsible financial roadmap that blends welfare with development while maintaining fiscal discipline.
Addressing the media on Saturday, he said the Budget outlay lays a strong foundation for the Swarna Andhra 2047 vision. He observed that the reduction in both revenue and fiscal deficits, despite increased expenditure, reflects prudent financial management and improved resource mobilisation.
Mr. Jayaprakash highlighted the significant increase in capital expenditure from ₹40,635 crore in the previous financial year to nearly ₹54,000 crore, calling it a clear indication of the government’s thrust on infrastructure-led growth. Investments in roads, logistics, industrial corridors and digital infrastructure, he said, are expected to accelerate long-term economic expansion and create employment opportunities.
He welcomed the ₹32,308 crore allocation for the education sector, stating that scholarships, Samagra Shiksha and skill development programmes would strengthen human capital and enhance youth employability. Welfare initiatives such as NTR Bharosa Pension, Deepam 2 and Stree Shakti, he said, underline the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable sections.
Referring to allocations for agriculture, he termed the support for the Polavaram project and the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme as commendable, adding that they would provide relief and stability to farmers. The ₹6,000 crore earmarked for the development of Amaravati was described as a decisive step towards building a world-class capital city.
Calling it a true double-engine government Budget, Mr. Jayaprakash credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for steering the State towards accelerated and inclusive growth.
