Prime accused Avinash Goswami in Raipur police custody
Raipur: : Police have arrested four people, including a history-sheeter, for allegedly being involved in a series of burglaries across Raipur district. The gang had targeted five locked houses and a shop between March and May, stealing cash and jewellery.The prime accused, Avinash Goswami, a history-sheeter from Mahasamund’s Kotwali area with nearly a dozen previous cases, allegedly used the stolen money to buy a car, which has been seized.Leads from previously detained juvenile offenders helped investigators trace Goswami.During questioning, Goswami allegedly confessed to the crimes and led police to a Raipur-based jeweller, Lakshmi Narasimha Jabadi, who was arrested for allegedly purchasing stolen ornaments.The total value of seized property is estimated at Rs 2.20 lakh.
