The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) is scheduled to meet at 7 pm this evening to review the West Asia war situation and its impact on India. Senior ministers will participate in the meeting to assess how the conflict affects Indians and discuss measures to contain potential damages. The government continues to issue assurances that the situation is under control. Recently, the government announced it has absorbed the burden of increasing oil prices, shielding oil companies and airlines to protect end consumers. The CCS previously met on 22nd March on related matters. The meeting comes amid global oil supply disruptions, though several oil vessels have been allowed passage through the Strait of Hormuz due to India-Iran relations. The Modi government maintains that it has adequately cushioned oil companies and airlines from rising oil prices and is closely monitoring the evolving situation.
