Cuban Ambassador to India Juan Carlos Marsán Aguilera has called for greater cooperation among Global South countries in critical sectors, including artificial intelligence. Emphasising the need for collective action, he said countries of the Global South should work in unity to overcome the crises facing the world.
The Ambassador was speaking at the inaugural session of a three-day international conference on ‘India’s innovation system: Global perspectives’ held from December 12 to 14 at Kerala University.
Information Kerala Mission chief mission director and K-FON managing director Santhosh Babu, who addressed the valedictory session of the seminar, said the challenges faced by the State could be addressed through the adoption of innovative technologies. Demonstrating the K-Smart application, he pointed out that technology had the potential to bridge social and economic divides.
The conference was organised by IndiaLICS in collaboration with the Science Policy Institute of the university in honour of former Vice-Chancellor V.P. Mahadevan Pillai.
