TDP national spokesperson K. Pattabhi Ram has said the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh has delivered its promise to fill teacher posts by successfully conducting the Mega DSC in a transparent manner, which is in sharp contrast to what the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has done in 2024.

Former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had notified the DSC examination barely a month before the general elections to fill 6,000 posts, which did not materialise as it was merely a political rhetoric, Mr. Pattabhi Ram said while addressing the media at the TDP central office, near Mangalagiri, on Friday.

The TDP-led NDA government had conducted the Mega DSC examination for 16,347 teacher posts and despatched 15,340 call letters by August 28. The remaining letters would be sent by September 1, he said.

Mr. Pattabhi Ram said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister Nara Lokesh had kept their promise to fill the teacher posts, which was a significant step towards generating 20 lakh jobs.

They could attract investments of over ₹10 lakh crore in the last 14 months, he said. The data centre being set up by Google in Visakhapatnam was a testament to the investor confidence created by Mr. Naidu, he added.

Mr. Pattabhi Ram said that Mr. Naidu had filled 18,000 teacher posts during his previous stints as Chief Minister. Mr. Naidu had also given age relaxation for taking the DSC examination to the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Economically Weaker Sections and the physically challenged, the TDP leader said.

A total of 729 non-teaching posts had been filled in the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas and 90 ST youth given postings as teachers. Besides, the services of 3,619 contract lecturers in junior colleges had been regularised, Mr. Pattabhi Ram said.
