The Andhra Pradesh Samagra Shiksha has announced key modifications to the recruitment process for the vacant posts of Principals, Contract Resident Teachers (CRTs) and Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs).
In a statement, State Project Director B. Srinivasa Rao said the last date for submission of applications had been extended from the earlier deadline to June 20, 2026.
The requirement of possessing a Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualification at the time of application has been temporarily relaxed. Under the revised notification, candidates without TET qualification are also eligible to apply for the posts.
However, candidates selected through the recruitment process must qualify Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) within one year from the date of joining the service. Failure to acquire the prescribed TET qualification within the stipulated period will result in automatic termination of service without prior notice, he said.
Mr. Rao said the original recruitment notification for the KGBV vacancies was issued on May 25. The revised guidelines were intended to widen the pool of eligible candidates while ensuring that appointed teachers eventually meet the mandatory professional qualification requirements.
The State Project Director clarified that candidates who had already submitted applications in response to the earlier notification need not apply again, as their applications will continue to be considered under the revised recruitment process.
