Star Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek boarded a private jet together to race to New York City for the upcoming US Open mixed doubles after their Cincinnati Open victories, a video of which was posted by the tournament’s social media and soon went viral.

Alcaraz and Swiatek didn’t get much time to celebrate their successes in Cincinnati, as both are set to feature in the revamped mixed doubles event at this year’s US Open.

Alcaraz won the ATP Cincinnati Open title on Monday after defending champion Jannik Sinner retired because of illness in the first set. Swiatek filled in a piece of her career tennis puzzle as she won the ATP-WTA Cincinnati Open for the first time with a 7-5, 6-4 loss of Jasmine Paolini.

In the aftermath of the results, the official X handle of the Cincinnati Open posted a video showing Alcaraz and Swiatek aboard a private jet headed for New York. Watch the clip here:

After arriving in New York, Swiatek shared an Instagram story to inform her fans that her shared flight with Alcaraz had landed.

“Made it ✈️See you on the court @casperruud 👀😇," Swiatek wrote on her Instagram story.

Swiatek and Ruud, seeded No. 3 in the US Open mixed doubles draw, are all set to face Madison Keys and Frances Tiafoe in the first round.

Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu have been drawn to face No. 1 seeds Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula in the first round.

Five-time Grand Slam singles champion Alcaraz, teaming up with Britain’s Raducanu, captured the most attention, while Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner, Swiatek and Venus Williams bring further glamour.

The 16 entrants comprise eight teams based on their joint rankings, with the other eight given wildcards by US Open organisers.
