Carmen Montero Mundt dons George Russell’s jacket at Sprint Qualifying, Alexandra Leclerc also turns heads in Shanghai

George Russell won pole in Sprint Qualifying at the Chinese Grand Prix on Friday. Cheering for him from the stands was his girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt. Interestingly, Mundt sported the same Chinese-style jacket worn by the Mercedes driver on his first day in Shanghai.

Charles Leclerc’s wife Alexandra Leclerc was also at the Shanghai International Circuit for the Sprint Qualifying and shared a glimpse of her look for the day on Instagram.

On Saturday, George Russell grabbed pole while his Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli joined him on the front row in second position. After winning the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on Sunday, Russell reached Shanghai for the Chinese Grand Prix on Monday.

The Briton was joined by his girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt in Shanghai after she missed supporting him at the season opener in Melbourne.Taking to her Instagram Stories on Friday, Mundt revealed her look on Friday. She wore the same jacket Russell had sported in his Instagram post earlier this week. Mundt styled the jacket with ankle-length denims and left her hair open.

Mundt is an educator and recently launched her organic skincare brand.

She skipped the Australian Grand Prix as she was recovering from appendicitis surgery in February.

She had shared many more pictures from her time in Shanghai a day before. “You’ll find me in the gardens,” she captioned the photo dump.Russell is however, not taking anything for granted despite back-to-back poles. Speaking after the Sprint Qualifying, he said, “The car has been feeling amazing. We knew after Melbourne we had a really good car, the engine is performing really well and the car was a joy to drive.

Since Melbourne we have been working on how to get off the line quicker, so I guess we'll find out tomorrow.”

On the other hand, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc reached Shanghai with his wife Alexandra Leclerc. The two got married earlier this month. Sharing a picture of her look on Friday, she wrote on her Instagram Stories, “I had the idea to translate some iconic quotes to Chinese for this dress.” She wore a blue dress with side slits to cheer on Leclerc during the Sprint Qualifying.Leclerc had also shared a bunch of pictures from his and Alexandra’s time in Shanghai. Sharing them on Instagram, he wrote to his Chinese fans, “Hello beautiful Shanghai.”

While Russell grabbed pole, Leclerc secured sixth spot on the grid. The Sprint final will take place on Saturday at 11 am (8:30 am IST). Chinese Grand Prix qualifying will be held on Saturday evening at 3 pm (12:30 pm IST).
