Carpenter arrested within 24 hours for chain snatching near Kukatpally mall

A 41-year-old man was arrested by the Kukatpally police in connection with a chain-snatching case reported near a shopping mall on Saturday evening.

The accused, Munuparthi Satish, a carpenter residing in Moosapet, was apprehended by the crime staff of Kukatpally police along with the Balanagar Central Crime Station (CCS). The case was registered following a complaint lodged by Nandipalli Kiran, a 40-year-old doctor from Bachupally.

The accused, police said, threatened the complainant, forcibly snatched a gold chain weighing about 24 grams from his neck and fled the scene when he came for shopping near Kukatpally. The value of the chain was estimated at around ₹25,000.

Police said Satish, originally from Jangareddygudem village in Eluru district of Andhra Pradesh, was taken into custody and further investigation is underway into the case.
