An unidentified drone was found inside a prohibited no-drone zone at the LUH Hangar of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) premises on Thursday, triggering security concerns.

According to the complaint, personnel of the security unit on duty at the LUH Hangar around 4.40 p.m. informed officials about an unidentified drone that had fallen in the Alpha Helipad tarmac area of the Helicopter Division. Acting on the information, the security staff rushed to the spot and found a black-coloured drone equipped with an HD camera lying at the location.

The area was declared a ‘No Drone Zone’ by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, and despite the restriction, unknown persons had allegedly flown the drone in the prohibited airspace.

A case has been registered against unknown persons for violating drone operation norms in a restricted area, and further investigation is under way to trace the operators of the drone.
