Case under IT Act against YouTuber Thoppy over obscene videos

Kochi: Ernakulam Rural cyber police have registered a case under the Information Technology (IT) Act against YouTuber Nihad, popularly known as ‘Thoppi’, for allegedly circulating obscene content on social media platforms.

The action was taken after inspecting his social media accounts.Police said Nihad allegedly posted nude videos of his friends on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram following a dispute with them. Over the past few days, livestream videos of Nihad and his associates trading allegations had been circulating online. The case was registered based on a complaint filed by advocate Sreejith Perumana following disclosures made in these live videos.
