Casino job trip ends in murder at Calangute, 1 held, two not traceable

Panaji: A job trip of four friends to a Goa casino turned tragic after one of the friends was allegedly murdered by three others for making sexual remarks against one of the friend’s wives while he was on a video call with her on Saturday.A Surat resident, Rajbhar Ramdasbhai, 29, was murdered by three of his friends who came to Goa two days ago to join work at a casino at Candolim. Goa police arrested the main accused who stabbed Ramdasbhai at the resort.SP (North) Harish Madkaikar said that police have arrested the main accused, 28-year-old Madhya Pradesh resident, Komal Baraskar, from Vasco. Baraskar, who had fled the spot with others, was about to board the train when he was arrested by Goa police.

The SP said that when one of the friends was on a video call with his wife, Ramdasbhai passed some comment and told him that he wanted to see his wife on the video call.Madkaikar said that when the comment was passed, one of the accused had a heated argument in the guest house where they were staying and there was also a scuffle between them.Apprehending that he would be further assaulted, Ramdasbhai ran from the guest house and he was chased by the remaining three friends, SP Vishwesh Karpe said.

Ramdasbhai ran for his life to a resort opposite to the guest house, where he was chased and stabbed. The incident took place at around 6am on Saturday.The representative of the resort at Calangute said that when he heard some noise at his resort, he opened the curtain of his room and saw a guard running. When he came down and inquired, he came to know about the incident. When Ramdasbhai was shifted to the hospital, he was declared brought dead.Karpe said that after the assault due to a sexual comment, all three accused left the spot in three different directions and police are trying to trace them.Initially, based on the complaint of the representative of the resort, Calangute police registered the first information report (FIR) against unknown persons and started investigation.Later Goa police identified all the accused and arrested Baraskar, the main accused in the case.
