An IAS officer was caught on camera slapping a student several times during an exam in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district. The video of the incident, which has now gone viral, took place on April 1.

Sanjeev Srivastava, the district magistrate of Bhind, was seen confronting the student before slapping him.

In the purported video Srivastava is seen holding a sheet of paper as he approaches Rathore, who is seated in a classroom. Without much warning, he pulls the student out of his chair and slaps him repeatedly.

A second video shows Srivastava leading the student, Rohit Rathore, into a different room, believed to be a staff room. There, he hands over the paper to another man, gesturing toward the student. He then turns to Rathore and demands, “Where is your paper?" before slapping him again — twice more.

Rathore later claimed that the beating impacted his hearing. “Because he is an IAS officer, I couldn’t say anything," he said.
