Caught with lover, woman kills mother-in-law, tries to pass it off as heart attack

A woman in Uttar Pradesh who was believed to have died due to a heart attack was found to have been killed by her daughter-in-law and her lover. The twist came after the deceased's husband grew suspicious of his daughter-in-law's actions and informed the police. On the District Magistrate's orders, the body was exhumed, and a post-mortem examination was conducted. It confirmed that the victim had suffered a broken neck.

After an investigation, police registered a murder case and arrested the daughter-in-law and her lover, Adil. The incident took place in Bhankarpur Basela village of Mathura district.

On March 3, Adil arrived at their house at around 1 am. Soon, the woman found her daughter-in-law in an objectionable position with Adil. The duo then hatched a plan to kill her. The elderly woman was smothered to death with a pillow.

At around 3 am, the daughter-in-law called her husband and told him that his mother had suffered a heart attack. The family buried the woman without any suspicion.

However, the story began to unravel days later when the deceased's husband grew suspicious about the circumstances surrounding her sudden death and approached the police. Police said further investigation was underway to unearth the full sequence of events.
