Around 26 years after the incident, a Delhi court on Tuesday (April 28, 2026) sentenced Central Bureau of Investigation Joint Director Ramneesh Geer and retired ACP Vivek Pandey to three months imprisonment in a case related to a controversial search operation conducted on October 19, 2000, at the house of an Indian Revenue Service officer Ashok Kumar Aggarwal.

The conviction was announced by Judicial Magistrate First Class Shashank Nandan Bhatt who later granted bail to the accused persons who expressed wish to challenge the judgment.
