TDP leader Mareddy Ravindranath Reddy (‘B.Tech’ Ravi) said on Wednesday (August 20) the conspiracy behind Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy’s murder would be exposed only if the Supreme Court allows the CBI to resume its probe, by relaxing the time limit as prayed by senior advocate Siddharth Luthra.

It was unfortunate that the accused were roaming freely on bail and intimidating the witnesses even as the slain leader’s daughter, Suneetha Narreddy, continued fighting hard for justice, he said.

Addressing media persons at TDP central office near Mangalagiri in Guntur district, Mr. Ravi said the tardy progress of investigation gave rise to doubts whether the case had been put in the ‘cold storage’ and noted that the CBI claimed to have concluded the probe because of a time limit imposed by the apex court.

He insisted that there was a larger conspiracy behind the murder, and the CBI needed to be given more time to unravel the mystery.

False cases were registered, including on Ms. Suneetha and CBI investigating officer Ram Singh, to subvert the probe. The court duly observed that these cases had mala fide intentions. Doubts persist on the role of various persons, including Y.S. Avinash Reddy, but the investigation made little headway.

Referring to the allegations that the ZPTC elections were rigged, Mr. Ravi said he would welcome fresh polls in Pulivendula if YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy resigned from his membership of the Assembly. He said his wife Latha Reddy was also prepared to put in her papers to face elections again.
