The Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday once again extended the deadline for students to obtain scanned copies of their Class 12 board exam answer books after the portal faced heavy traffic and technical disruptions.
The board has now extended the last date from May 23 to May 24, 2026, giving students an additional day to complete the process.
In a circular, CBSE said that the website had been witnessing “unprecedented traffic" along with several attempts of unauthorised interference, leading to disruptions in services. To ensure that students are not affected, the board decided to extend the application deadline.
The earlier last date to apply for scanned copies of answer books was May 23, 2026. It has now been extended to May 24, 2026.

The extension comes amid complaints from students and parents regarding failed payments, delayed access to scanned copies, and frequent crashes on the portal during the application process.
CBSE has also announced that students who are not satisfied with their Class 12 results will be able to apply for verification of marks and re-evaluation through an online system. The application window for these services will remain open from May 26 to May 29.
This year, the board has reduced the fees for post-result services. The cost for obtaining scanned or photocopies of evaluated answer sheets has been brought down to Rs 100, and the verification fee has also been fixed at Rs 100. For re-evaluation, students will need to pay Rs 25 per question. CBSE further stated that if a student’s marks increase after the re-evaluation process, the re-evaluation fee will be refunded.
The re-evaluation process has come under greater scrutiny this year because of concerns over the newly introduced digital On-Screen Marking system. Students and parents are demanding more transparency and better access to evaluated answer scripts after the results are announced. They have called for physical re-evaluation of answer copies or, failing that, the awarding of grace marks.
