CBSE Class 12 Chemistry paper tests numericals and NCERT concepts across sections
The CBSE Class 12 Chemistry examination was conducted today across the country in a single shift from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The exam was held at designated centres under standard board guidelines, with students given the prescribed reading time before the three-hour paper. A total of 18,59,551 students are registered for the Class 12 board examinations this year across 120 subjects at 7,574 centres. Chemistry is a key subject for science stream students and is considered important for higher education in engineering, medical, and pure science courses.
Students from Khajoori Khas centres share initial reactions
Students who appeared for the examination at centres in Khajoori Khas, Delhi, described the paper as largely easy, with a few sections requiring extra attention. Nida, who attempted Set 1, said, “The paper was easy and most of the questions were straightforward.” Tanisha Verma, who appeared for Set 2, said, “Overall, the paper was easy, but some questions from Physical Chemistry needed careful calculation and took more time.” Aanchal, who attempted Set 3, also described the exam as manageable. “The paper was easy and based on familiar concepts from the syllabus,” she said.
Another student from the same centre, who attempted Set 1, said, “The paper was moderate overall, and the Physical Chemistry section was slightly difficult compared to the rest.” Students added that the questions were largely based on NCERT concepts and standard topics from Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry. Some candidates said that numerical problems in Physical Chemistry required careful use of formulas, units, and significant figures.
Paper pattern and coverage
According to students, the question paper included a mix of competency-based questions, short-answer items, and numerical problems. Internal choices were available across sections, allowing candidates to attempt questions based on their preparation. Questions were asked from commonly studied units such as Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Coordination Compounds, and Organic reaction-based chapters.
Students said that careful reading of instructions was important, particularly for numerical and conversion-based questions.
Detailed analysis and question paper awaited
More reactions from students across different regions are expected. Detailed section-wise analysis from subject experts and teachers will be provided shortly. The official question paper and expert solutions will also be made available soon to help students review the question pattern, topic weightage, and marking approach.Share Your Thoughts: Students’ Reactions and Teachers’ AnalysisThis is a developing story, keep visiting for the latest updates.
