CCP to rebuild Tonca rainwater drain at Rs 16 lakh

Panaji: The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) is set to reconstruct a rainwater drain in Tonca. The work will commence in a week at an estimated cost of Rs 16 lakh.A CCP official said, the drain requires reconstruction, as it was installed more than 20 years ago. The walls of the drain are damaged. “The drain is old, and it had some structural problems, so it is now being repaired,” the official said.Last year, the drains flooded due to excessive rain, causing mud and other residue to accumulate and obstruct the drains. The water remained stagnant due to the clogged drain, causing inconvenience to the commuters.
