Ceiling collapse injures two at Kozhikode KSRTC terminal

Kozhikode: Two passengers sustained minor injuries after a portion of the ceiling above the waiting area at the KSRTC bus terminal in Kozhikode collapsed in the early hours of Friday.A major tragedy was averted as the incident occurred early in the morning when the number of people present was low.

The incident occurred around 2am when the gypsum ceiling installed beneath the concrete roof gave way while passengers were seated in the area.The injured were identified as Madhu (58), a native of Kayamkulam in Alappuzha, and Ajith (24) from Mananthavady in Wayanad. Both suffered minor head injuries and received medical attention.Local MLA K Jayanth visited the terminal and held discussions with KSRTC officials.
