The Central Electrical Authority (CEA) will observe the National Electrical Safety Week, which coincides with National Electrical Safety Day on June 26, said the Director of Electrical Safety G. Vijaya Lakshmi.
The CEA is organising the week-long campaign on the theme ‘Smart Energy, Safe Nation’, and the officers concerned will focus on safety aspects of emerging technologies such as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Electric Vehicles (EVs), charging infrastructure and rooftop solar installations.
The event will serve as a national platform to bring together stakeholders from utilities, regulators, manufacturers, officers of the Directorate of Electrical Safety and the field technicians to discuss safety imperatives and showcase the emerging technologies.
Officers of the Directorate of Electrical Safety will visit factories, industries, multi-storied buildings, schools, hospitals, hotels, commercial establishments, agriculture fields and other areas during the National Electrical Safety Week, and explain safe electrical measures to prevent accidents, Ms. Vijaya Lakshmi said on Thursday.
