Centre extends CBI Director Praveen Sood's tenure till May 2027

The Centre has extended the tenure of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director Praveen Sood by one year.

The extension was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) based on the recommendations of the selection committee.

According to the order issued on May 13, 2026, Sood’s extended tenure will come into effect after May 24, 2026.
