Centre extends ceasefire agreement with NSCN/GPRN for lasting peace in Nagaland

Dimapur: The Centre on Tuesday extended the ceasefire agreement with the Niki Sumi-led NSCN/GPRN for another year.The NSCN/GPRN, in a release issued by its ministry of information and publicity, said the ceasefire extension agreement was signed in New Delhi by Union joint secretary Prashant Lokhande and its ceasefire supervisory board supervisor Abel Zingrü Thuer and secretary Ameka Achumi.

The agreement stated that the ceasefire aims to bring about a lasting peace in Nagaland with the involvement of the Naga people.
