The Centre has set up seven empowered groups of officials and experts to assess and manage the impact of the ongoing West Asia conflict on India’s economy. The panels will focus on key sectors such as oil, gas, fertilisers, supply chains, and inflation, amid concerns over global disruptions caused by the war.
The move follows directions from Prime Minister Narendra Modi after a review by the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS).
The first group will handle strategic matters including defence, foreign affairs, and internal security. It will be led by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and include senior officials such as Home Secretary Govind Mohan and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.
