The Union Government has released ₹2,545.50 crore to Andhra Pradesh as first instalment under the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Grameen) (VB-G RAM G) scheme, Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar has said.

“The allocation includes ₹1,414.16 crore towards wage payment, ₹942.77 crore for material expenditure, and ₹188.50 crore for administrative expenses,” Dr. Chandra Sekhar said in a statement on Tuesday.

He said the programme, launched recently from Tirupati, would provide a new direction to rural development by strengthening durable infrastructure and expanding livelihood opportunities across villages in Andhra Pradesh.

He said the first tranche of funds would be utilised to generate rural employment, create permanent community assets and improve rural infrastructure. The State government would ensure effective utilisation of the funds for sustainable development in rural areas, he added.
